How to get rid of a sore throat?

Sore throat: the simple gestures
Sore throats often appear in an epidemic context, when winter viruses attack in number. Here are some things to do that should give you quick relief
- Drink plenty to hydrate the pharyngeal mucosa and reduce pain. Preferably opt for hot drinks (honey milk, lemon tea, etc.).
- The recipe for gargling with honey and lemon juice : mix in hot water a pinch of salt, half a squeezed lemon and a teaspoon of honey. Gargle 3 times a day. You can also, if you prefer, drink lemon juice diluted in a glass of warm water : lemon contains citric acid with anti-inflammatory properties and its vitamin C content strengthens natural defences.
- Watch the heating of your room : it should not be more than 19°C. And humidify the ambient air, using a humidifier or a bowl of water that you put on the radiator.
- Refrain from smoking.
- Avoid dusty places.
- Do not expose yourself to sudden temperature changes.
- Take care not to force your voice.
- Protect your neck with a scarf that you will place in front of your mouth when you go out into the cold air.
A sore throat usually heals within a few days and there is no need for medication. However, there are mouthwashes to help disinfect the throat. Spray at least one hour after meals. The pellets eliminate bacteria by acting at the local level. The antibacterial, antiseptic and analgesic active ingredients are gradually released and the production of saliva, with protective properties, is increased. But be careful, these lozenges are not sweets, so do not exceed the prescribed dose and do not give them to a child under 6 years old.
If you do not feel better after 3 days, if you have lymph nodes in the neck, ear, sinus, headache, chills, fever or if you are very tired, consult . Your sore throat may hide angina , viral or bacterial.
Sore throat: plants to the rescue
To relieve your sore throat, you can turn to certain plants with anti-infective or soothing properties. Ask your pharmacist or herbalist for advice. If you are still in pain after 3 days or have a fever , see your doctor.
The white broth
It is indeed a plant. Its yellow flowers have effective antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties for treating coughs and sore throats. Infuse 50g of dried flowers and leaves in 1l of boiling water for 15 minutes and filter. Drink a cup morning, noon and evening after meals.
Calendula (marigold)
Get some mother tincture of calendula diluted in organic stores or pharmacies, and make throat baths: pour 30 drops in half a glass of boiled water. Rinse your throat with this mixture for 30 seconds and then spit it out. To be renewed 3 times a day.
