- Tiredness , burning , discomfort , itching or dry eyes
- Double or blurred vision
- Blurred vision in the distance after looking at the monitor for a long time
- Head and neck pain
- Difficulty changing focus on monitor and original documents

1. Change your work habits: Place the monitor 18 to 30 inches away from your eyes . The top of it should be at or slightly below eye level, so you tilt your eyes slightly to see your work.
Keep your computer clean and place the keyboard in front of the monitor so you don't have trouble focusing. Place the material you are going to read next to the monitor, at the same level and distance.
Check reflexes; to do this, sit in front of the monitor off and watch any intense reflections; there may be some artificial light or ambient light causing problems for you.
If you wear glasses or contact lenses , make sure they are the right prescription for working on your computer.
2. Rest your eyes: Look away from the screen and focus on an object several meters away for ten seconds every ten minutes.
3. Change your pace: Try to move at least once every two hours, giving your body and eyes the necessary rest. Consider standing up for a few moments.
4. Wink and blink: Dry eyes can be a result of computer use, especially for those who wear contact lenses. Some people only once a minute when working on the computer, when the normal thing is to do it every five seconds.
If the blinking is less, the lubrication of the tears is also less, which causes dryness , itching or burning in the eyes . For this reason, it is recommended to blink more frequently.
5. Close them: If possible, lean back in your seat and close your eyes for a few moments.
In addition to these cares, it is very important that if you present a noticeable change in vision , prolonged discomfort or double vision , you see a doctor immediately.
